Live Painting

Local artists, Deana Hoover, will paint LIVE during the event, and the finished artwork will be raffled off during the festival.

Deana Hoover painting Deana Hoover is a Northern Nevada artist and writer. Painting and writing the story of the human species is Deana’s passion and primary focus. She works with both pigments and words. While her work contains focus and purpose, it includes the freedom and spontaneity that allow for serendipity. The thread that unites all of her work, both visual and written, is a sensual connection with the world of color and texture, motion and stillness, joy and sadness. "Getting lost in the brushstrokes, the thickness of the paint, or the mixing of colors, affords me the same bliss as getting lost in the written word and the story as it plays out on the page," Deana Hoover said. And while she takes the arts and creativity seriously, she loves humor and laughter (as you may note, with little hints of irreverence peppered throughout her website). Deana works primarily in oil, but also enjoys graphite, charcoal, and pastels. She writes both fiction and non-fiction. She teaches drawing, painting, and writing and is a traditional storyteller.
